Moab's oldest commercial building was constructed in 1887. The building originally housed Hammond & Company, an early Moab Mercandtile firm. The building also served as Moab's first unofficial post office. The building was refurbished in 1972 but in 1989 a fire nearly destroyed the historic structure. Rebuilt and restored in 1993 the building continues to see use today.
